Acacia Homecare expands its franchise network to Southampton
On April 3rd 2023, Acacia Homecare Franchise signed another franchisee into its ever expanding network. Husband and wife team Reena Samuel and Samuel Matthews are now the proud business owners of Acacia Homecare Southampton.
Reena has been a care work and then a nurse for the NHS for over 20 years and Samuel has been in the healthcare management industry for over 10 years. With their background and experience and the desire to do something for themselves as well as the community, it made perfect sense for them to look at the world of care and in particular a care franchise as they could relate to it. Reena said “when I first became a nurse, it has not been my first choice, however as soon as I did it felt very natural.”
Samuel said that they looked at the care franchise opportunities thoroughly but said that “Acacia had three things that we were looking for – values, ethos and a vision..” These matched both Reena and Samuel and they knew they had found a business that genuinely cared about the industry.
The process for the husband and wife team has been smooth from the initial meetings to post signing of the agreement, whereby now Minal and Sanj, the founders of Acacia Homecare are supporting with their set up such as the CQC registration, sourcing an office, guidance on telephone systems and guidance on the networking in the area of Southampton. Reena comments that “we have received so much support already from Sanj and Minal and they have put us at ease at every step of the way so far.” While Samuel says that “for any questions we have had, both Sanj and Minal have been helpful and provided us with what we require. We have never run a business before and have no business experience, but with their support we feel confident we are going to thrive.”
Their hopes over the next few years is to achieve a trusted brand, not only as a care provider for the vulnerable but also for those that are looking to be employed in the care sector. Samuel said that he understands the importance and the value of care workers and will look to ensure they are also well looked after and supported. As they embark on this journey, both Reena and Samuel are excited as to what lies ahead over the next few weeks, months and years.
