Diary of goodbrother Showroom - Chester, Chapter One

Seeing a franchise in action - how it works on a day to day basis, how it attracts customers, and how those customers interact with it - is an essential part of understanding if that opportunity is right for you.

goodbrother’s showroom in Dublin is an excellent place to do just that, it’s not exactly a short way to travel, but It would certainly be worth your time, as it really is something that needs to be seen rather than just described, however I expect you're as keen as we are to see how it all works in the UK.

And soon you can - Our showroom experience is coming to Chester soon.

The first goodbrother showroom in the UK is being prepared in Chester, and we are going to document the whole journey from start to finish.

There’s really not a great deal to see yet, of course, but we think it’s very valuable for you to get a glimpse into what goes into creating these showrooms, and what that process will look like for you if you join the goodbrother franchise.

The site has been selected, and as of this week, the space is being completely stripped back.

It's going to be a remarkable journey, as the goodbrother team have some ambitious plans to transform this space into something genuinely unlike anything else in the market.

The goodbrother model is quite different from what most people expect – unlike most showrooms, this will not be designed around simply filling a space with kitchen displays and hoping customers find something they like. The whole approach starts from the customer's perspective rather than the product catalogue - no walls of cabinet doors, no hard sell, no showing off how many styles you can build. The job of a goodbrother showroom is to help customers realise their own vision, and that requires a very different kind of environment to pull off well. When you see the finished Chester space, you will understand what that means in practice a lot more clearly than any description can convey.

In a few months from now, you will be able to experience this difference first hand. The plan is for this to be the destination for prospective franchisees in the UK - somewhere you can visit, spend some time, and get a proper feel for how the whole thing works before making any decisions.

We’ll keep you up-to-date on the showroom’s progress, but if you have any questions about the practical realities of operating your own goodbrother franchise in the UK, the team are more than happy to help.
