Founder of Progressive Sports, Eddie Ray, explains the further sector funding HAF

In 2021 the government announced extra funding of £200 million per year that would be directed to local councils to support disadvantaged children access holiday activities and food (HAF) across England.

We've been working as delivery partner to lots of councils across England and the funding has had a significant impact on our business with over £1 million pound of funding accessed by our network in the last 12 months.

This has resulted in over 15,000 children being able to access our holiday activities that otherwise might not have been able to do so due to financial reasons.

Founder and Managing Director, Eddie Ray
“Being able to give more children the opportunity to be active is great. We’ve heard some lovely stories in how the HAF programme is making a difference to families across the UK. It also presents some obvious business opportunities which we’re supporting our network in being able to connect with the right people and support them with applying for funding in their area.”

The Sports Education sector is continuing to grow year on year and offers great potential for people who want to operate a business that combines profit, with doing ‘good’ in their community.
