Franchise opportunities in...Derby

Why choose Derby to run your Franchise Operation?

Derby is no stranger to business, with it being the first place in the entire world to have a factory – the Derby Silk Mill. It was also the hub of the Industrial Revolution, have we got your interest now? The area is absolutely littered with potential franchise growth, with numerous busy cities to get yourself established in.

We have not even begun to talk about its location… with being very centralised, Derby is extremely well connected to plenty of major cities via train including London, Sheffield, Birmingham, Newcastle and Cardiff. This means you can get to just about anywhere in under 2 hours. This is a great prospect for those who don’t mind a commute.

Are there suitable areas for me to open my franchise?

Derby has one of the few selected business parks in the UK with the ‘Enterprise Zone’, which grants companies various benefits offered such as the ‘Enhanced Capital Allowances’ and ‘Business Rates Relief’ both nationally and locally.

The Bretby Business park is also a fantastic option with it being on the crossroads for the A50, A38, M1, M6 and M42. It boasts currently over 60 businesses with over 2,000 people and offers fantastic, flexible rates for small and medium sized businesses so that they can still have a place to thrive.

With a moderate sized population of 260,000 people Derby isn’t the largest of cities to start off with, but with a huge flow of people passing through with its links it’s a great location for people on the move. With that in mind, it would be an ideal location for Service Franchises and Food & Beverage Franchises.

Will I receive support through Franchising in Derby?

Naturally you will receive support from the Franchisor in the first instance, but what else can you expect to receive when starting up in Derby? There is also the DEGF (Derby Entreprise Growth Fund) and the D2EGF which is a partnership between the Derby County Council the D2N2 scheme. These two funds aim to provide the following;
