How to transform your life by looking into a gym and personal fitness franchise

Being in and out of lockdown for over 12 months has meant for die-hard fitness fanatics they have been unable to properly train in their safe havens and keep up with their gains. With restrictions easing and gyms and fitness spaces reopening, people are chomping at the bit too get back to their hustle. Therefore, now more than ever, looking to join the franchise industry in the fitness sector should be seriously considered so that muscle mass is not the only gains you could be getting.

Gym & Personal Fitness Franchise

The fitness sector is colossal. In 2018, the annual turnover for fitness facilities was £2bn and the number of facilities was almost 3,500 in the UK. The reason there are so many is because 6.1 million people in England train in a gym at least twice a month. That is a hell of a lot of potential customers. The majority of fitness clubs have turnovers of between £100,000-£250,000 a year. The new trend of fitness clubs business models have shifted towards low-cost memberships, usually allowing people to train 24 hours a day.

The fitness industry has been on steady incline of popularity and participation as more and more people become aware of the health benefits that ties in with working out. With the likes of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, more people have been uploading their workouts online so that others can copy their routine to gain similar results. Other social media platforms have also aided this boost in popularity, as it is now so easy to share diet plans, advertise workout clothing and what exercises to do. Over the recent years, we have seen the likes of brands such as Gymshark attire and FitBit tracking become so prevalent in the market, even people who do not work out still own them.

Gyms and fitness spaces are not just exclusively the training ground for just for the heavy-lifting muscle machines, but also for the every-day person who likes to just keep active. Throughout the past 12 months, everyone has suffered by losing their centre of fitness with access to top quality machines, weights, trainers, and other facilities (the sauna being a favourite of ours). Although home workouts have provided a much-needed release and substitute, it does not quite compare or meet the demand that you can achieve whilst being at a gym.

Currently, gyms and other leisure centres can allow people indoors, but people must train solo or with other members of their household. On the 17th May, indoor sports groups and exercise classes can resume as long as they stick to the maximum participants rules. This roadmap is a clear indicator of when we can expect to see people signing back up for their Pilates, Zumba or other activities which they have desperately craved.

Not only is working out great for your physical and mental wellbeing, but the social aspect of being able to meet friends and work out together is a huge benefit. In the Winter months, training outside is extremely difficult and exercising at home is not always manageable depending on your living scenario.

Many people throughout lockdown may have suffered in not being able to exercise as much as they wanted too and like before people have lots of reasons in wanting to go to the gym. From getting bigger, toned, or losing weight, people will always seek out fitness spaces to work towards their goals. Although home methods such as Peliton have seen a huge increase in its members, unfortunately not everyone can afford these home workout machines due to their high costs and memberships. Despite this, for those that can afford it, they will more than likely never go back to a gym due to the expense they have paid and the convenience of exercising in their living room.

Off the back of this, there are some fitness franchises which offer in-home services too. They send out PT’s (personal trainers) that will come to your house and provide you with a top-quality workout from home. This yet again shows the flexibility and dynamic changing fitness sector has done to keep up with the demands of their customers.

With Summer fast approaching and holidays looking likely to go ahead towards the end of 2021, now would be a great time to look at the fitness franchise sector and really capitalise on all the new sign ups that are likely to occur.
