Making Every Step Count: Walking Together for Cancer Research UK
On the 23rd of May 2026, the Concept Claim Solutions team and franchise partners laced up their walking boots and took on the challenge of walking around Derwent Water in the Lake District to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

With temperatures reaching around 25°C, the route proved to be as demanding as it was rewarding. Surrounded by dramatic fells, crystal-clear water and breathtaking views around every corner, there were moments when the scenery quite literally stopped people in their tracks. It was one of those rare days when you couldn’t help but feel grateful to be there.
Of course, no team challenge would be complete without a few unexpected detours.
At one point, the group found themselves scrambling up rocks and taking the scenic route after following Mike, who was absolutely convinced he knew the way. While there is still some debate over whether the extra climbing was intentional, it certainly added to the adventure.
The team were also joined by two very enthusiastic four-legged walkers, Cody and Finn, who took the challenge in their stride and kept spirits high throughout the day.
With cancer touching the lives of so many, the team felt strongly about supporting Cancer Research UK and helping to raise vital funds and awareness for the life-changing work the charity continues to carry out every day.
Reflecting on the day, Jon Ford, Franchise Partner for Newport, said:
“It was truly one of the best days I’ve had in a long time. The company was fantastic, the setting was stunning, and it felt great to be raising money for such an important cause.”
“It was a brilliant day, challenging and exhausting at times, but knowing we were helping to raise money for Cancer Research cause gave everyone a real sense of purpose. Finn and I loved every minute of it.”

By the end of the day, there were tired legs, sunburnt faces, plenty of photographs, a few stories about questionable navigation, and a huge sense of achievement.
Most importantly, there was the knowledge that every step taken around Derwent Water had contributed to a future where more families could spend more precious time together.
And that made every mile worth it.
