McDonald's to trial re-opening branches across the UK

Fast food franchise giants McDonald’s have given hungry lockdown fans light at the end of the tunnel.

Now before everyone goes running, who we kidding, driving to the nearest McDonald’s the chain has reconfirmed that this will only be a re-opening of a trial branch and not all of their 1250 UK outlets.

"Restarting our business is not an easy task, even when reopening in a limited capacity. For now we remain closed, and will only reopen when we are absolutely confident we can have the right measures in place to ensure everyone's well-being."
Paul Pomroy, McDonald's UK and Ireland chief executive

McDonalds have said they will only open once they feel it safe for the public, their staff members and all involved in the McDonald's supply chain. And these measures will take time.

McDonald's had shut all its branches last month in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, and Government advice. The chain has seen rivals such as KFC, Pret A Manger and Burger King reopening some sites for delivery and takeaway over the past week, so we don’t imagine it will be long until we can all get our hands on a Big Mac soon.
