Ovenu Maidenhead supports blood cancer charity with significant donation

A Maidenhead businessman has smashed his fundraising target to help support people with blood cancer.

Ryan Penniston, owner of oven valeting firm Ovenu Maidenhead, has raised £1,175 for Anthony Nolan – more than double his initial £500 target.

Anthony Nolan helps match individuals willing to donate to those in need of stem cell or bone marrow transplants.

Mr Penniston donated a percentage of his profits from his business throughout August and raised additional funds through a successful fundraising barbeque event that was supported by other local businesses, which provided raffle prizes.

Ryan, 26, chose to fundraise for Anthony Nolan after being accepted onto its stem cell donor register, having been inspired to do so through a mutual friend.

“It has been a hugely successful campaign and I am absolutely delighted to have surpassed my initial fundraising target by such a large amount. The Anthony Nolan charity is such a worthwhile cause, which helps so many people, and hopefully my efforts will have helped raise awareness, as well as contribute to its ongoing research. I would like to thank everyone for their support and kind donations throughout the fundraising campaign and during my barbeque event, which was well received amongst the community. I support many charities, so I am now looking forward to continuing my work with Anthony Nolan as well as other fantastic charities, with further campaigns planned in the future.”

Ovenu Maidenhead provides its environmentally-friendly oven valeting service to homes and businesses throughout the Maidenhead area including Marlow, Cookham & Taplow.

Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.

The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
