The celebration saw 40 children and their parents experience a family French session followed by bilingual play time. The event was warmly welcomed with some important VIPs in attendance.

Richard Holden, newly-elected MP for North West Durham, enjoyed learning some French before chatting to local constituents over a cuppa.

To be at Lingotot's 10th anniversary was amazing. It's such a pleasure to see a local Consett company thriving nationally and pushing to expand internationally. I heartily congratulate Angela on all she has achieved and wish her every success with her future plans for the company.

The event was also attended by Andrea McGuigan of Business Durham, the economic development arm of Durham County Council and Craig Huntington of RTC North’s Scale Up Programme.

I was honoured to be invited to join Angela and her team celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lingotot. Angela is a truly dedicated business woman who has worked extremely hard to grow her business to be the multi award winning and international success it is today. I want to wish Angela and the Lingotot family all the very best for the future.

Mr Huntington added, “It's always a pleasure working with Angela to help continue the growth of Lingotot so joining her to celebrate 10 successful years since deciding to set up her amazing business was very special. Supporting the business as it now moves into international markets is the start of the next chapter and incredibly exciting.”

Lingotot also took the opportunity to hold a raffle to raise funds for local charity Heel and Toe, that supports children with Cerebral Palsy and other physical disabilities.

Angela said: “Here at Lingotot we truly feel part of the community. We like to give back to the local community where possible and we were delighted to be able to raise money for a wonderful cause.”

Angela admitted that she couldn't have achieved her success without the support of her customers, families and friends.

She commented, “It was great to be able to celebrate this milestone anniversary with local families, share a cuppa and see the smiles on the children’s faces!”
