Banana Moon Day Nursery unveil new initiative Little Hearts Big Future

Banana Moon Day Nursery are thrilled to introduce Little hearts, bright futures – an initiative that aims to see all of our nurseries have an automated external defibrillator (AED) installed by the end of 2023.

The first defibrillator has just been installed at Head Office, and we’ll be emailing each setting individually when you’re next on the list to receive one. This email will advise you of your installation date and include your marketing and press pack.

This is our biggest-ever initiative – this lifesaving equipment will help us to ensure our little ones have the best chance of a bright future, no matter what life throws at us. A defibrillator plays an essential role in the chances of bringing someone back from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). According to the British Heart Foundation (BHF), early CPR and defibrillation can double the chances of surviving an OHCA.

Although we hope that our defibrillators will never have to be used, we hope they give reassurance to parents as we continue to demonstrate our commitment to safeguarding the little ones in our care. It also means members of our local communities are within minutes of the AED.

It will be installed in your reception area, meaning that it’s accessible to rescuers during nursery opening hours. Your local ambulance service will be able to direct 999 callers to the defibrillator, meaning vital treatment can commence prior to the ambulance arriving.
