Gecko Hospitality gave me my life back

After years of being in the trenches in restaurant operations I saw an opportunity in Gecko Hospitality to use my restaurant knowledge and help others. I also loved the fact that I was responsible for my own destiny. My success is a direct result of my work ethic and the energy I have put into my company.

Gecko Hospitality gave me my life back. I had weekends and evenings to spend with my family and synagogue. It gave me the opportunity to help others, not only in placing managers and chefs in new positions but hiring staff and allowing them to grow and be successful. I’ve had the opportunity to go on regular vacations I would never have been available for while in the corporate world. We’ve been able to spend money to upgrade our cars and our home and not worry about making the mortgage payment. I also have time to do the things I want to do, and I have the opportunity to teach and develop others who are truly interested in improving themselves.

The available support from the corporate office has always been there. Our current support staff lives and breathes the service mentality and I truly appreciate all they do for us franchisees. Not only are they there to answer our calls, but more so to have our back, dealing with our vendors (job boards, databases etc.). I know, no matter how simple or easily explained my question might be, the support staff handles every call as if it was an emergency. If they don’t know the answer, they research and get back to me quickly.

While working in corporate restaurants I had to regularly monitor our house expenses. Dining out was a luxury (if I wasn’t working every night) Upgrading household appliances or remodeling rooms in the house was something we always had to put off. Since joining Gecko, my wife has been able to leave her full-time job to be the creative stained-glass artist she wanted to be. We have purchased new cars for cash, taken vacations and saved enough money to finish an addition to the house, without taking out any loans. Although we are not wealthy, we no longer worry about money.
