Lakeland Verandahs East London franchisee looks to decking to enhance business empire

Homeowners living in East London wishing to enhance their garden spaces with low-maintenance UPVC decking from Lakeland Verandahs, who may also require any fencing or landscaping assistance, should make contact with our branch in the capital.

Lakeland East London is owned by Mark Lovell

The Lakeland territory there is owned by Mark Lovell. He invested into our East London franchise to complement his well-established gardening, fencing and landscaping company, Leyton Fencing & Landscaping.

For 20 years, he worked as a Planner in the print trade as a desktop publisher, doing it all by hand, before the Apple Mac came along!

As work started to deplete in this industry, that’s when he jumped ship and started to run Leyton Fencing & Landscaping, which he has successfully done for the last 10 years.

It’s one of the few fencing and landscaping businesses to be approved installers of Jacksons (fence panelling) and iGrass (synthetic grass), so it has a fine reputation in the East London area.

This good name, he feels, gives him a strong base to achieve the goals he has in mind for his Lakeland Franchise.

"I have appointed a Manager to run Leyton Fencing & Landscaping to enable me to focus my attention on the franchise, which is a perfect fit for my existing stable. Over the coming years, I see there being a big demand for decking on balconies, matched with Anthracite Grey bi-folding doors, so I thought buying a Lakeland franchise was worth a punt. I’m very keen to turnover £500K in my first year, and want to see how quickly I can hit £1m in sales."

Being able to leave a legacy for his children, and the green element of the Lakeland range, were also factors behind his decision to add to his business.

“People are a lot more environmentally-conscious nowadays and I see so many tired timber decks that need replacing, so it’s definitely a growing market.

“I’m also planning to bring in someone I know with connections to the hot tub industry, which is another opportunity and another reason why I have such high hopes for my franchise.”
