Lakeland Verandahs Leicester franchisee has blossoming future in sight

The number of franchise operations Lakeland Verandahs has throughout the UK is now well into double figures and continuously climbing, and Leicestershire is amongst many regions where the decking and fencing business enjoys a well-established presence.

Lakeland Verandahs Leicestershire franchisee is Davidson Knight, who spent 25 years working within a food manufacturing environment, and then for the following six years operated a family-run ecommerce floral design business.

Just like so many other businesses, Davidson’s floral design company suffered badly as a consequence of the pandemic, but it failed to diminish his enthusiasm for continuing to work for himself, controlling his own destiny and achieving a healthy work-life balance.

He identified franchising as the best possible option for this and went in search of the right franchise opening.

“My criteria for finding a franchise was that I wanted to buy into a business model with a proven reputation, dynamic management team, and that had the potential for growth. It was really important to me that it could demonstrate that it had grown in spite of the pandemic.

“Having researched a number of potential business opportunities, the Lakeland Verandahs Franchise Network was the one that ticked all of the boxes.

“I believe that being part of a nationally established franchise group, with quality eco-friendly products, gives me a massive competitive edge. Working amongst a group of franchisees also helps with developing a sound business advantage.”

Davidson is well aware that the first year for any business is critical, but he is extremely confident that his franchise will quickly establish itself as the go-to business for decking, fencing and balustrades in the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire areas.

“Building the brand based on quality, price and great customer service is my short to medium-term aim. Initially, I am using subcontractors for customer installations, but I hope in the very near future to employ my own installation team. I am also employing my daughter to help out with sales and administration.”
