Ovenu Leeds North West strengthens team to support growing demand

Surging demand has prompted Dean Chew, owner of Ovenu Leeds North West, to recruit a new oven technician to support his growing client base.

The move comes as the oven cleaning service surpasses an impressive 2,000 five- out-of-five star reviews on respected customer feedback platform Trustist - underlining a reputation for consistently high-quality service.

Dean is currently fully booked several weeks ahead and regularly completes three to four oven cleans per day, often working weekends to keep up with demand. To support the business, he has now welcomed experienced oven technician Tom Dunning to the business.

Tom, who has just moved back to his native Leeds from Cambridgeshire, adds significant hands-on expertise, allowing him to hit the ground running and reduce wait times.

Dean Chew said: “Demand has grown significantly, which is fantastic, but it’s also meant long days and working weekends to ensure I don’t let clients down.

“As the business has grown, it’s been really important to make sure we have the right people in place who share our commitment to quality. Bringing Tom on board, with all his experience, means we can continue delivering high standards, while increasing our availability.

“Reaching over 2,000 maximum five-star reviews is a huge milestone for the business and something I’m incredibly proud of. It reflects the care and attention we put into every job.”

Ovenu Leeds North West covers an area that includes Horsforth, Yeadon, Pudsey, Farsley, Morley, Swillington, Rothwell, Ilkley, Guiseley, Garforth, Otley, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Blubberhouses, and surrounding areas.

Tom Dunning added: “I’ve previously worked as an oven cleaner, so I’m looking forward to getting started straight away to both meet demand and help the business expand further.”

Dean’s journey into business ownership reflects a diverse career path. A former NHS orthopaedic plaster technician, he returned to frontline healthcare during the pandemic, spending 12 weeks working as a locum for York and Scarborough Hospital Trust.

He also spent 19 years as a stage technician working with Opera North and Northern Ballet, alongside time in TV props, before pursuing his ambition of running his own business. Having previously worked as an oven technician himself, he took ownership of the franchised business in 2020.

The Ovenu process involves dismantling key oven components - such as doors, interior panels, fans and shelves - and cleaning them in design-registered tank equipment using safe, non-caustic and biodegradable products. The service leaves ovens in near showroom condition and also covers hobs, extractor hoods, microwaves and range cookers.
